Override Settings

Generally information on user account override the information found on the address Contacts you created in DSAddresses.

Definition: Override means that IF information is present on the user account it will replace the information on the DSHQ Contact. (Or other Address Contacts in use for that user)

The thought being that if there is no information present for at given user, we shall use the information found on the general Address Contact.

But you may want to block the overriding. E.g. you are using certain fields on your user account for information that you do not want to be publish in the signature. By blocking it you can make sure that information fond on the contact are always use.

So if these are set "False" the information on users will be ignored and only information found on the Contacts will be used.

There are 2 exceptions. You will notice that Telephone and Fax are NOT options in the override setting.

That is because Fax is always overridden. There is no such thing as HQ Fax and normal Fax. So the Fax from the Contact is overridden by the Fax from the user to produce ONE fax number. And the Telephone from the user account is used as the direct number, and the Telephone from the Contact as the Switchboard.

By default all the address information is set to not be overridden.
