Outlook does not add my signature to new mail [KB=175]

Hi.

I have a strange situation. In Outlook I have setup a signature to be default for new mails as well as reply mails, but when I write a new mail it does not add my signature.

Please help.

A: Yes we have seen this on several occasions. Also related to this problem some users experience that the html portion of the signature that DynamicSignature creates disappears immediately upon creation. So looking in %appdata%\Microsoft\Signatures users find the signature(s) has got only the .txt and .rtf files, but not the .htm.

This is due to some kind of registry mess up caused by Outlook during migration to the new file structure used by Roaming Signatures feature. It only occurs for very few users.

To fix this issue you can make Outlook clean up the registry, by removing corrupted registry keys.

Go to Registry Editor and rename the "Settings" folder to "_Settings" in this location [HKEYCURRENTUSER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Settings]

Restart Outlook and note that it will generate a new "Settings" folder with all need keys. When you have confirmed this, you can delete the renamed folder.

Verify that Outlook now adds your signature to new/reply mails.

If you have the situation with missing .htm files you need to generate fresh signatures first.
