Roaming Signatures and DSBS

Hi.

We are trying to publish signatures to OWA using the DS Batching Service.

The job runs fine, and the log states that X signatures has been published to OWA. But we can't see them.

Please advice.

Answer:

Hello.

Yes this is a known problem.

If you go to your signature settings on OWA and you see a dropdown, this means Microsoft has enabled Roaming Signatures in your tenant.

It is a long awaited feature, that they have not been able to follow through with for almost 2 years, as of this writing (July 2022)

Feature ID: 60371

Background: When this features is finally released, signatures will no longer be stored in Exchange, but on a special Roaming Signature storage area that MS is developing. And then signatures will be synchronized between all devices. But MS has not produced any means of accessing this storage area yet. Rumor is it will take at least another year for them to release an API so those signatures can be managed.

Microsofts advice: "In the meantime, you can open a support ticket with Microsoft (in the Microsoft 365 admin center) to request them to turn off the roaming signatures feature in OWA."

Several of our clients has done that, and it works.
